Army West Point vs. Wake Forest Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Army West Point vs. Wake Forest football game
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Blaik Field at Michie Stadium at noon ET on Saturday. They will be strutting in after a win while the Army West Point Black Knights will be stumbling in from a loss.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wake Forest ultimately got the result they were hoping for two weeks ago with a 40-37 victory over the Syracuse Orange. WR A.T. Perry was the offensive standout of the game for the Demon Deacons, catching three passes for three TDs and 137 yards. Wake Forest's win came on a 22-yard TD pass from QB Sam Hartman to Perry with only 0:00 remaining in overtime.
Meanwhile, Army was within a late touchdown of stealing the victory, but they took the "L" against the Wisconsin Badgers 20-14. QB Jabari Laws had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he fumbled the ball once with only 87 yards passing.
This next contest is expected to be close, with Wake Forest going off at just a 3-point favorite. Now might not be the best time to take Wake Forest against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.
The Demon Deacons' win brought them up to 6-0 while the Black Knights' defeat pulled them down to 4-2. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Wake Forest is 167th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 237.3 on average. Army has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 244th fewest passing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 72.5 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
