Charlotte vs. Middle Tenn. updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Charlotte vs. Middle Tenn. football game
Game Recap
After a disappointing 9 points in their last matchup, the Charlotte 49ers made sure to put some points up on the board against the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders on Friday. The 49ers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 win. Having forecasted a close victory for them, the oddsmakers were right on the money.
QB Chris Reynolds had a stellar game for Charlotte as he passed for four TDs and 339 yards on 36 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 32 yards. WR Grant DuBose also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Middle Tenn. might have lost, but man -- QB Chase Cunningham was a total machine. He passed for five TDs and 379 yards on 40 attempts in addition to picking up 65 yards on the ground. Cunningham's 51-yard touchdown toss to WR DJ England-Chisolm in the third quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
The game brought the 49ers to 3-1 and dropped the Blue Raiders to a mirror-image 1-3.
Charlotte will square off against the Illinois Fighting Illini at noon ET next week at Memorial Stadium. As for Middle Tenn., they will face off against the Marshall Thundering Herd at 7 p.m. ET next week at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium. Marshall lost a close one recently, falling 31-30 to the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Thursday.
