The Marshall Thundering Herd will head out on the road to face off against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Brooks Stadium. Coastal Carolina does have the home-field advantage, but Marshall is expected to win by four points.
Marshall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 20-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Madison.
Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina earned a 27-17 win over Arkansas State on Saturday. 27 seems to be a good number for Coastal Carolina as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Among those leading the charge was Grayson McCall, who threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
With Marshall's defeat and Coastal Carolina's win, both teams now sport identical 4-3 records.
Coastal Carolina is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
Marshall came up short against Coastal Carolina in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 24-13. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
