Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kansas State vs. NC State football game
3rd Quarter Report
Kansas State is on the road but looking no worse for wear. A victory is still up for grabs for either team after three quarters, but Kansas State is up 21-19 over North Carolina State.
If Kansas State keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 9-4 in no time. On the other hand, North Carolina State will have to make due with a 9-4 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Kansas State Wildcats will square off in the Pop-Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium 5:45 p.m. ET on Thursday. North Carolina State will be hoping to continue their three-game streak (dating back to last season) of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
North Carolina State has more to be thankful for after their game against UNC back in November. North Carolina State strolled past UNC with points to spare, taking the game 39-20.
Kevin Concepcion and Brennan Armstrong were among the main playmakers for North Carolina State as the former picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Brayden Narveson did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in four field goals and three extra points.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Kansas State back in November, but the final result did not. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Iowa State. It was the first time this season that Kansas State let down their fans at home.
Despite their loss, Kansas State saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Will Howard, who threw for 288 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ben Sinnott, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
North Carolina State is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Kansas State, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.
North Carolina State is hoping to beat the odds on Thursday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last five times they've played.
