Rice vs. FAU Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Rice vs. Florida Atlantic football game
3rd Quarter Report
Only one more quarter stands between Rice and the victory they were favored to collect coming into this afternoon. They have jumped out to a 24-14 lead against FAU.
Rice came into the match with some extra motivation after the loss they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.
Preview
Rice has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the FAU Owls at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. FAU took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rice, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Rice made easy work of Charlotte and carried off a 28-7 victory. The victory was just what Rice needed coming off of a 34-14 loss in their prior game.
Rice's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dean Connors led the charge by rushing for 184 yards while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. AJ Padgett also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, FAU's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to Tulane at home by a decisive 24-8 margin.
Rice's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for FAU, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Looking forward, Rice is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by five points. Those brave souls putting their money on FAU against the spread have faith in an upset since their 3-2 ATS can't hold a candle to Rice's 8-3.
Rice couldn't quite finish off FAU in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 17-14. Will Rice have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check CBS Sports after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more college football content.
