Stanford vs. TCU updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Stanford vs. TCU football game
3rd Quarter Report
Down seven at the end of the second quarter, TCU now has the lead. A victory is still up for grabs for either team after three quarters, but TCU is up 27-24 over Stanford. The finale is shaping up to be a lot like these teams' last head-to-head, which was decided by just two points.
If TCU keeps playing like this they'll be starting off their season with a 'W'. On the other hand, Stanford will be starting their season off on the wrong foot unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
Stanford is on a seven-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), TCU a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change on Friday. The Stanford Cardinal will kick their season off against they. Kickoff is scheduled at 10:30 p.m. ET at Stanford Stadium.
A deciding factor in this game could be passing touchdowns, as these two teams wound up on other sides of the spectrum last year. Stanford were ranked 118th in the nation last season, with 11 over the course of the season. TCU, on the other hand, had no problem: they finished last season ranked 25th with 27 in total.
Looking back to last season, Stanford will look to improve upon their 3-9 record. Similarly, TCU will seek to improve after finishing 5-7.
Stanford is hoping to beat the odds on Friday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
