UTEP vs. UNLV updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UTEP vs. UNLV football game
The UNLV Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the UTEP Miners at 9:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Sun Bowl. Coming in fresh off a victory as the underdog, UNLV will stroll into this one as the favorite.
Even though Vanderbilt scored an imposing 37 points, UNLV still came out on top. UNLV sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. With that win, UNLV brought their scoring average up to 30.3 points per game.
Special teams played a big role in the game, adding 16 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Jose Pizano: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another four kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for UTEP on Saturday and it ended that way too. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 31-10 walloping at Arizona's hands.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Miners weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 49 rushing yards. That's the fewest rushing yards they've managed all season.
Looking ahead, the game is expected to be close, with UNLV going off as just a 2.5 point favorite. They might be worth a quick bet since they're covered the spread the last three times they've played.
UNLV's win bumped their season record to 2-1 while UTEP's loss dropped theirs to 1-3. We'll see if UNLV can repeat their recent success, or if UTEP bounce back and reverse their fortunes.
