  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Out again Friday

Richardson (rest) will not play in Friday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Richardson missed the past two games for Orlando for rest purposes, and now he'll miss the final game as well. In his most recent performance Sunday, he produced 19 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four assists, two rebounds and two blocks across 25 minutes. He has a real shot at rotation minutes as a rookie.

  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Idle Wednesday

  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Won't play Tuesday

Richardson (rest) won't play in Tuesday's Summer League game against the Thunder, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

Richardson will sit out the front end of the team's back-to-back set, and his next opportunity to suit up will come Wednesday against the Nets. The 19-year-old guard was productive in his last appearance during Sunday's loss to the Raptors, recording 19 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four assists, two rebounds and two blocks across 25 minutes.

  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Good to go Sunday

Richardson (ankle) is available and starting in Sunday's Summer League game against the Raptors, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

Richardson was able to finish Thursday's loss to the Kings with 14 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes, though he briefly exited after aggravating a right ankle issue. The Michigan State product averaged 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 25.3 minutes per game in 36 outings (15 starts) during his lone collegiate season.

  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Scores 14 in SL debut

Richardson (ankle) closed with 14 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes in Thursday's 84-81 Summer League loss to the Kings.

Richardson delivered a solid Summer League debut Thursday, reaching double figures in scoring while committing just one turnover. He briefly exited the game due to an ankle injury, and while he was able to return and play through the issue, Orlando Summer League coach Ameer Bahhur noted after the matchup that Richardson may have aggravated a right ankle issue that had been bothering him leading up to Summer League play, per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel. Richardson stated that he was feeling fine after the exhibition according to Beede. The 6-foot-1 guard solidified himself as a clear first-round talent during his lone season at Michigan State, where he averaged 12.1 points on 49.3 percent shooting, including 41.2 percent from three, across 36 games. With Jalen Suggs (knee) returning and Desmond Bane joining the roster via trade, the Magic can afford to bring Richardson along gradually, though the organization loves the potential of its No. 25 overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft.

  • Magic's Jase Richardson: Goes No. 25 to Orlando

Richardson was selected by the Magic with the No. 25 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Richardson had an outstanding true freshman season, emerging as a clear first-round prospect after a late-year breakout. The son of NBA legend Jason Richardson, Jase averaged 16.1 points and 4.6 rebounds after being promoted to the starting lineup for Michigan State's final 15 contests. Richardson has a sweet shooting stroke and showcased three-level scoring ability. Though he's undersized at 6-foot-1, Richardson excels at finishing through contact. The concern comes in his ballhandling and playmaking. As a natural shooting guard, Richardson's size will likely force him to play the point at the NBA level. However, the Magic have a slew of oversized guards and wings, and are in dire need of shooting, making Orlando a strong fit. Expect Richardson to provide a scoring punch off the bench in 2025.
