Borghi was waived by the Steelers on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

  • Steelers' Max Borghi: Lands with Pittsburgh

The Steelers signed Borghi on Thursday.

Borghi will head to Pittsburgh just two days after being waived by the Broncos. The undrafted rookie out of Washington State totaled four carries for 10 yards during Denver's preseason opener Saturday. Borghi will now look to compete with Anthony McFarland, Jaylen Warren and Mataeo Durant for a possible depth role in the Steelers' running back room this preseason.

  • Max Borghi: Waived by Denver

The Broncos waived Borghi on Tuesday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

Borghi participated with the Broncos during rookie minicamp but didn't earn a contract until the start of August, when Damarea Crockett (knee) tore his ACL. The undrafted product out of Washington State will have to look elsewhere for a new NFL opportunity, but he posted 880 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns during his senior season in 2021 so he may garner some interest from around the league.

  • Broncos' Max Borghi: Lands with Broncos

Borghi signed with the Broncos on Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Borghi participated in rookie minicamp with the Broncos in June. While he didn't receive a contract at the time, the team opted to bring Borghi in as a depth option after Damarea Crockett (knee) tore his ACL on Tuesday. Borghi rushed for 880 yards with 12 touchdowns in his senior season at Washington State in 2021.

  • Max Borghi: Trying out with Denver

Borghi is participating in minicamp with the Broncos on a tryout basis, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.

The 23-year-old Washington State product was waived by the Colts about a month ago and still is trying to find some footing in the NFL. Borghi excelled as a pass-catching back in college, but even so he's a long shot to land a spot with the team.

  • Max Borghi: Waived by Indy

The Colts waived Borghi on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

The Colts signed the Washington State product as an undrafted free agent earlier this month. However, with Indianapolis adding veteran Phillip Lindsay to their backfield mix Tuesday, the rookie was deemed expendable. Borghi displayed a versatile skill set in college, but he appears to be a long shot to stick on an NFL roster ahead of Week 1.
