  • Dolphins' Anthony Schwartz: Placed on injured reserve

Schwartz (knee) was placed on the Dolphins' reserve/injured list Sunday.

Schwartz injured his knee while being tackled on a 17-yard reception in Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. Tests later confirmed that Schwartz tore a ligament in his knee, and the 2021 third-round pick will now be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached with the Dolphins. Schwartz appeared in 11 regular-season games for the Browns last season, finishing with four catches on 10 targets for 51 yards while adding 57 rushing yards and a touchdown on four carries.

  • Dolphins' Anthony Schwartz: Tears ligament in knee

Schwartz suffered a ligament tear in his left knee during Friday's preseason loss to Tampa Bay, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Schwartz didn't play in either of the Dolphins' first two exhibition contests but was finally able to take the field Friday for the preseason finale. The 23-year-old caught both of his targets for 24 yards, but on his second catch -- a 17-yard reception thrown by Skylar Thompson -- he hurt his knee while being tackled. Jackson cites a source in indicating that Schwartz tore a ligament in his left knee on the play and suggests that the speedy wideout is headed either to IR or toward an injury settlement. Miami has yet to confirm those details, but this nonetheless appears to be another hit to a wide receiver room that has had its depth thinned due to a multitude of injuries.

  • Dolphins' Anthony Schwartz: Nabs reserve/future deal with Miami

The Dolphins signed Schwartz to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Schwartz played with the Browns in each of his first two NFL seasons, recording 14 catches on 33 targets for 186 yards and a touchdown over 25 games and adding 96 yards and a touchdown on 10 rushes. He also worked as a kick returner in his rookie campaign, recording 322 yards in that role. The 2021 third-round draft pick suffered a hamstring injury during training camp last season and was eventually waived by Cleveland before joining Miami's practice squad in mid-November. He'll now have a chance to compete for a spot on the team's active roster during training camp this summer.

  • Anthony Schwartz: Earns deal after workout

Schwartz signed with the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Schwartz had a workout with Miami on Tuesday and will now get an opportunity with the franchise. The 2021 third-round selection suffered a hamstring injury in camp with the Browns, which ultimately led to him reaching an injury settlement with the team after a stint on IR.

  • Anthony Schwartz: Works out in Miami

Schwartz (hamstring) had a workout with the Dolphins on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The Browns waived Schwartz off injured reserve with an injury settlement in September and he has been quiet since. His workout in Miami indicates his health is back up to par. It remains to be seen if he will get a shot with the Fins.

  • Anthony Schwartz: Gets waived from IR

Cleveland waived Schwartz (hamstring) from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

After he missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring issue, the Browns decided to let go of Schwartz. He'll now have to look for another opportunity elsewhere.

  • Browns' Anthony Schwartz: Ends up on IR

Schwartz (hamstring) reverted to Cleveland's injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Schwartz was waived with an injury designation Sunday. He's now set to spend the entire 2023 campaign on IR, unless he and the Browns can agree on an injury settlement. The 2021 third-round pick appeared in 11 games last season, securing just four of 10 targets for 51 yards.

  • Anthony Schwartz: Headed for waiver wire

Schwartz (hamstring) was waived with an injury designation Sunday.

Schwartz has been dealing with the injury for about a week, and he'll now potentially miss the 2023 campaign due to it. If the 2021 third-round selection clears waivers, he'll revert to IR, which will keep him on the shelf for the season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

  • Browns' Anthony Schwartz: Expected to miss Sunday

Schwartz (hamstring) isn't expected to play in Cleveland's preseason finale, Doc Louallen of the team's official site reports.

Cleveland will most likely continue to hold Schwartz out with a hamstring injury after he missed practice earlier in the week. The young wideout is entering his third season after being selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Schwartz has only 14 career receptions, so expect the 22-year-old to serve as a depth piece in Cleveland's wide receiver room ahead of the coming season.

  • Browns' Anthony Schwartz: Sidelined with hamstring injury

Schwartz (hamstring) didn't practice Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Schwartz was working off to the side with the training staff. Injuries have been his downfall since he was drafted 91st overall in 2021. He missed nine games across his first two seasons and is in a heated competition for a roster spot this summer. Missing the final preseason came could be a big blow to his chances of making the team.
