Browns' Michael Woods: Reverts to injured reserve
Woods (hand) reverted to the Browns' injured-reserve list Thursday, per the NFL's transactions log.
Woods was injured in practice last week and was later waived with an injury designation. He'll now be required to miss the entirety of the regular season but could be let go with an injury settlement once healthy. Woods played in five regular-season games for the Browns last season, catching seven passes for 65 scoreless yards.

Michael Woods: Let go by Cleveland
The Browns waived Woods (hand) with an injury designation Wednesday.
Woods suffered a hand injury during this past Thursday's training camp practice. He will no longer be a part of the Browns' training camp roster, but if he clears waivers, he'll revert to injured reserve and be forced to sit for the entire 2025 season unless an injury settlement is reached. Woods spent most of last season on Cleveland's practice squad but did play in the final five games of the regular season, posting seven catches (on 18 targets) for 65 yards.

Browns' Michael Woods: Nursing hand injury
Woods did not participate in Thursday's practice due to a hand injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
The severity of the injury isn't clear, but Woods will likely be limited to rehab and individual drills until he's progressed enough in his recovery. The 2022 sixth-rounder is competing for a depth spot in the team's wide receiver corps, so he'll look to be available for the Browns' first preseason game against the Panthers on Aug. 8.

Browns' Michael Woods: Returns to the gridiron
Woods (knee) participated in Wednesday's organized team activities, Joshua Gunter of Cleveland.com reports.
The 2022 sixth-round pick from Oklahoma missed the Browns' 2024 season finale due to a knee injury, but his participation during the team's OTAs suggests he's now past the issue. Woods appeared in five games with Cleveland last season, catching seven of his 18 targets for 65 yards across 291 offensive snaps. Now healthy, he's expected to compete for a depth spot in the team's wide receiver room throughout the summer.

Browns' Michael Woods: Finishes season with seven catches
Woods (knee) recorded seven catches on 18 targets for 65 yards over five appearances during the 2024 season.
All of Woods' playing time came during a five-week stretch between Weeks 12 and 17, before a knee injury prevented him from suiting up for the season finale. He often served as the third wideout in those contests, though he likely would have fallen further in the pecking order had Cedric Tillman (concussion) and/or David Bell (hip) been available.

Browns' Michael Woods: Inactive Saturday
Woods (knee) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Ravens.
Woods approached Saturday's contest listed as questionable after being deemed a limited practice participant Tuesday through Thursday. In his absence in Cleveland's season finale, Jamari Thrash, James Proche and Kaden Davis are candidates to see added wideout snaps behind Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore.

Browns' Michael Woods: Receives questionable tag
Woods (knee) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game at Baltimore.
Woods was a limited practice participant throughout the week after he emerged from this past Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Dolphins with the knee injury. If Woods is cleared to play Saturday, he would likely operate as the Browns' No. 3 wideout behind Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore.

Browns' Michael Woods: Nursing knee injury
Woods was listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice due to a knee injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Woods is nursing the knee injury coming out of the Browns' 20-3 loss to the Dolphins this past Sunday, when he played 68 of 79 snaps on offense en route to finishing with a three-yard reception across four targets. If he's able to move past the knee issue in time for Saturday's season finale in Baltimore, Woods should once again be in line for a top-three role at receiver after the Browns placed Cedric Tillman (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Browns' Michael Woods: One catch in loss
Woods caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Dolphins.
Woods was on the field for 86 percent of the offensive snaps, but once again, the playing time didn't translate into meaningful production. Since being signed to the active roster five games ago, Woods has operated as the de facto third wideout and played 83.1 percent of the snaps, but he has just seven catches on 18 targets for 65 yards.

Browns' Michael Woods: Shut out in loss
Woods did not record a catch on three targets in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Bengals in Week 16.
Woods has operated as the No. 3 wideout the last four weeks, but there are limitations to his fantasy viability given Cleveland's unsteady quarterback play. He's caught six passes on 14 targets for 62 yards during his spike in playing time. His increase in snap count is directly related to Cedric Tillman (concussion) being unavailable. Whether Tillman eventually returns or not, Woods will audition over the final two weeks for a spot on what is expected to be an overhauled roster in 2025.

Browns' Michael Woods: Two grabs in loss
Woods caught two of three targets for seven yards in Sunday's 21-7 loss to Kansas City in Week 15.
Woods was once again elevated to No. 3 wideout as Cedric Tillman (concussion) was inactive, and he played 100 percent of the offensive snaps. All that activity didn't translate into meaningful production for Woods, who's been targeted 11 times (once in the red zone) in three weeks as Tillman's replacement. The Browns benched starting quarterback Jameis Winston and may have Dorian Thompson-Robinson start the final three weeks, which could alter the target distribution beginning in Week 16 at Cincinnati.

Browns' Michael Woods: Expected third WR Sunday
Woods should maintain his role as the third wide receiver Sunday against the Chiefs, as Cedric Tillman has been ruled out.
Woods has eight targets and played 81.6 percent of the offensive snaps over the last two weeks while filling in for Tillman. Prior to his concussion, Tillman generated 44 targets and three touchdowns over five games, so the third wide receiver carries potential in a Jameis Winston-led offense. Cleveland hopes to use a more balanced run/pass ratio Sunday and minimize the opportunities for the Chiefs' offense; however, the Browns often play from behind and Winston has averaged 43.2 attempts per game over the last six weeks.

Browns' Michael Woods: Fills in as third wideout
Woods caught one of three targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Steelers in Week 14.
He was elevated to the active roster for a second consecutive game, as Cedric Tillman (concussion) was inactive once again. Woods' 63 snaps were third among all pass-catchers, behind only Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku. Woods has four catches on eight targets for 55 yards in his two appearances.

Browns' Michael Woods: Signed to active roster
The Browns signed Woods from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Woods was elevated to the Browns' active roster for Week 13 against the Broncos, and he finished with three catches (on five targets) for 45 yards while playing 64 snaps on offense. With Cedric Tillman (concussion) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Woods will likely be on the field for three-wideout sets alongside Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore.

Michael Woods: Back to practice squad
Woods reverted to the Browns' practice squad Tuesday.
Woods was elevated from the practice squad Monday's 41-32 loss to the Broncos and made his first NFL appearance since Week 17 of the 2022 campaign. With Cedric Tillman (concussion) inactive for the contest, Woods stepped in as the Browns' No. 3 receiver, playing 66 snaps on offense and finishing with three catches (on five targets) for 43 yards. He'll likely be elevated again for this Sunday's game against the Steelers and could once again find himself in a prominent role if Tillman is forced to miss a second straight contest.

Browns' Michael Woods: Makes season debut
Woods caught three of five targets for 43 yards in Monday's 41-32 loss to the Broncos.
Woods was elevated from the practice squad and made his season debut. Filling in for an injured Cedric Tillman (concussion), Woods saw his first action since Week 17 of the 2022 season and finished fourth among Browns pass catchers in targets on a night in which quarterback Jameis Winston attempted 58 passes. He played 66 snaps on offense and was the preferred option three-receiver sets alongside Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore over depth wideouts Jamari Thrash (15 snaps), Kadarius Toney (six) and Jaelon Darden (zero). If Tillman remains sidelined for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, Woods will likely be elevated from the practice squad again and could be in store for another sizable snap count.

Browns' Michael Woods: Elevated Monday
Woods was elevated to the Browns' active roster Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Oklahoma product was elevated alongside Kadarius Toney to provide depth at wide receiver for Monday night's matchup against the Broncos, with Cedric Tillman (concussion) and David Bell (hip) both sidelined. Woods last saw regular-season NFL action with the Browns in 2022, appearing in 10 games and catching five of his 10 targets for 45 yards over 144 offensive snaps. He's expected to see minimal offensive work and may contribute on special teams in Week 13.

Michael Woods: Back with Browns
Woods signed with Cleveland's practice squad Wednesday.
Woods finished the preseason on a high note against the Seahawks on Saturday, when he caught five passes (on nine targets) for 53 yards and two touchdowns. It wasn't enough to push him onto the Browns' 53-man roster, but the 2022 sixth-round wideout will stick around in Cleveland on the taxi squad. He last saw NFL action in his rookie season, when he recorded five catches (on 10 targets) for 45 yards across 10 regular-season games.
