Arcia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays. Arcia has started just three times in the last 11 games and appears to have ceded the top job at shortstop to Nick Allen, who has produced a .321/.367/.393 slash line so far this season. Meanwhile, Arcia has struggled mightily at the plate, posting a .490 OPS while striking out at a career-worst 28 percent clip over 25 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less

Arcia is not in Atlanta's starting lineup against Tampa Bay on Sunday, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports. For the third time in four games, Arcia will begin the contest in the dugout while Nick Allen gets the start at shortstop and bats eighth. Arcia has gone 4-for-17 with one run scored and one RBI over his last five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Not starting Saturday
Arcia is not in Atlanta's starting lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday. Arcia went 0-for-4 in Friday's series opener, and he'll begin Saturday's contest in the dugout while Nick Allen gets the start at shortstop. Arcia has started the season slashing .208/.240/.250 with one RBI across 25 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Starting again Wednesday
Arcia will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies. After a four-game benching, Arcia returned to the lineup Tuesday and reached base twice in four plate appearances in Atlanta's 7-5 win. He'll get another chance to build on that performance by starting again Wednesday as he looks to solidify himself as Atlanta's everyday shortstop ahead of Nick Allen.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Absent from lineup again Friday
Arcia is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Marlins. After starting four of the first five games of the season, Arcia has now been absent from the lineup in three straight contests. Nick Allen will make his third straight start at shortstop and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Resting Wednesday

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Not starting Friday
Arcia is not in Atlanta's starting lineup against San Diego on Friday. Arcia started at shortstop on Opening Day and went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. He'll begin Friday's contest in the dugout while Nick Allen gets the start at shortstop and bats eighth against Padres right-hander Dylan Cease.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Struggling at plate this spring
Arcia has gone 1-for-15 (.067) over nine Grapefruit league appearances this spring. The shortstop is better known for his glove, but Arcia has slugged 17 homers in each of the last two regular seasons, even if his OPS dropped from .741 in 2023 to .625 last year. The 30-year-old hasn't yet found his timing in camp, but his job wouldn't seem to be in any jeopardy, especially given the limited options behind him in the system. A healthy Nacho Alvarez might have made a push, but the 21-year-old has been dealing with a wrist injury this spring.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Plates three in win
Arcia went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, three RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers. Arcia knocked in multiple runs for the first time since Aug. 30. The shortstop has had a quiet September so far, going 6-for-41 (.146), though three of his hits this month have gone for extra bases. He's at a .220/.275/.361 slash line with 16 home runs, 45 RBI, 45 runs scored and two stolen bases across 143 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Knocks two homers
Arcia went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Friday's win over the Phillies. Arcia put Atlanta on the board with a solo shot in the third inning before belting another homer in the sixth. He was stuck in a 10-for-60 (.167) slump over a 17-game span since his last multi-hit performance Aug. 11. Arcia is now slashing .228/.281/.373 with 15 home runs and 41 RBI through 130 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Homers in loss
Arcia went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Philadelphia. Arcia snapped a 16-game homerless drought when he opened the scoring with a fourth-inning blast off Aaron Nola. That long ball was all Atlanta could put on the scoreboard Wednesday. Arcia is batting just .235 (16-for-68) over 19 contests in August, just modestly better than his .226 average for the year. He's added a .630 OPS, 12 homers, 36 RBI, 35 runs scored, 19 doubles and no stolen bases over 121 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Racks up four hits Sunday
Arcia went 4-for-4 in Sunday's 9-8 loss to Colorado. All four hits were singles. Arcia earned his third multi-hit effort in his last five games, but he doesn't have an extra-base hits or RBI since Aug. 2. The shortstop is at a .234/.278/.366 slash line with 11 home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored, 19 doubles and no stolen bases over 112 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -

The Atlanta shortstop opened the scoring for his team when he slugged a 399-foot solo shot off Valente Bellozo in the fifth inning. Arcia later added another RBI on a single in the eighth to stretch the Atlanta lead to 5-3. The 29-year-old has been hot since the All-Star break, hitting .356 (16-for-45) with four homers, five runs scored and eight RBI across 14 games. He is currently riding a 13-game hit streak.... Braves' Orlando Arcia: Extends hit streak with homer
Arcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Marlins. He connected on Atlanta's third long ball of the game, launching a Max Meyer fastball over the left-field fence in the third inning. Arcia has hit safely in 12 straight games, a stretch in which the veteran shortstop is slashing .350/.409/.600 with three homers, four runs and six RBI. Thursday's blast was his 10th of the year, the fourth time in his career he's reached double digits in a season.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Batting fifth Thursday
Arcia will start at shortstop and bat fifth in Thursday's game versus the Marlins. Atlanta has been forced to juggle its lineup often this season due to injury, but even with that, this is the highest Arcia has batted since May 23. He was batting ninth at the beginning of his current 11-game hit streak, a streak that's seen him sock a couple home runs while posting a .955 OPS.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Goes yard again Monday
Arcia went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Brewers. The shortstop went yard for the second straight game, driving a Colin Rea two-seamer over the center-field fence in the fifth inning. Arcia is finding a groove at the plate, batting .357 (10-for-28) over a nine-game hitting streak, but the surge has still only boosted his OPS on the season to .612 -- his lowest mark in a full big-league campaign since he stumbled to a .575 mark in 2018.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Pops eighth homer
Arcia went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Mets. The shortstop extended his hitting streak to eight games with a seventh-inning shot off Ryne Stanek, one of four Atlanta long balls in a 9-2 rout. Arcia may be finding his 2023 form at the plate -- over the last 13 contests, he's slashing .325/.386/.475 with two of his eight homers on the season.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Ends power drought
Arcia went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-1 win over the Padres. Arcia ended a couple of lengthy droughts, as he had gone 29 games since his last multi-hit effort and his last homer. During the slump, the shortstop hit just .147 with four doubles and two RBI. He started the season well, but he's now at a .212/.246/.338 slash line with seven homers, 25 RBI, 27 runs scored, 18 doubles and no stolen bases over 88 contests. Arcia hasn't been challenged for his spot in the lineup, but that's mostly a testament to his reliable defense.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Returns to lineup
Arcia (tooth) will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Friday's game versus the Phillies. Arcia missed three games after having an abscessed tooth extracted, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in the series opener versus a division rival. The 29-year-old sports a disappointing .582 OPS this season for Atlanta.... See More ... See Less
