  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Supplies offense with homer

Langford went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Rockies. The Texas outfielder gave this team a 2-1 lead when he slugged a 412-foot long ball off Colorado starter Chase Dollander in the sixth. Langford snapped a 16-game streak without a homer, over which he batted .238 (15-for-63). Across 137 total plate appearances, the 23-year-old owns a .263/.350/.492 slash line with seven homers, 16 runs scored and 16 RBI.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Steals two bags in loss

Langford went 1-for-4 with two steals in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Red Sox. Langford put himself in scoring position twice with the steals, his fifth and sixth of the season, but his teammates went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Rangers lost their sixth consecutive series, as the team-wide offensive struggles persist. Langford is one of the few Rangers getting on base with any regularity. He's reached base safely in seven straight contests and is batting .279/.353/.500 through 27 games.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Stays hot with three RBI

Langford batted leadoff for the first time this season and went 1-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Athletics. The Rangers had a pair of three-run doubles, one by Langford and another by Adolis Garcia, during their eight-run onslaught in the sixth inning. Langford has now logged at least one hit in eight of his last nine outings, during which he's batting a scorching .429 (15-for-35) with three home runs, five doubles, seven RBI and two stolen bases. The 2023 No. 4 overall pick has been a five-category fantasy contributor to begin 2025, and his run-scoring upside gets a boost while he's operating as the leadoff hitter.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Receiving Sunday off

Langford is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants. The 23-year-old started the past six games after recovering from an oblique injury, and he'll receive a day off after going 12-for-23 with three doubles and two homers during that span. Dustin Harris will pick up a start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's series finale.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Three more hits in Friday's win

Langford went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants. The Rangers managed just seven hits in total on the night, and Langford was the only Texas hitter who had little trouble solving Justin Verlander, with both his two-baggers coming off the future Hall of Famer. The three-hit performance was Langford's third in five games since returning from an oblique strain, and the surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .350/.429/.700 with six homers, four steals, eight runs and nine RBI in 70 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Swipes bag in return

Langford went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers. Returning from the IL due to an oblique injury, Langford worked a walk to lead off the second inning and stole a base in the frame. He was also called out in an attempted steal to end the game. Langford now has three steals in 13 games and was showing some early pop before his injury with four homers.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Activated, added to lineup

Langford (oblique) was activated from the injured list Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Langford said Saturday that he expected to be activated Sunday, and that has indeed come to pass following a final evaluation in the morning. He was originally left out of Texas' lineup, but he's now slated to start in left field and bat fifth. In a corresponding move, Ezequiel Duran was sent down to Triple-A.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Exits with oblique tightness

Langford was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs due to right oblique tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Langford was replaced in the field after striking out swinging to end the top of the seventh inning, and he appears to have tweaked the oblique during that at-bat. He's slated to receive an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the damage, per Landry, but Langford said after the game that he isn't too concerned about his latest injury since it doesn't feel as bad as the left oblique strain he suffered during spring training. If Langford ends up missing any amount of time, Josh Smith and Kevin Pillar would be in the running for additional playing time in the outfield. The Rangers could also call up Dustin Harris from Triple-A Round Rock to provide another option who's capable of playing all three outfield spots.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Homer holds up

Langford went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Reds. Langford's solo shot in the first inning held up as the decisive run, as neither team could do much with the bats. He had two of the game's eight hits and the home run was the second of the season for Langford, who had a game-tying homer in Sunday's 3-2 win over Boston. The outfielder has hit safely in five of six games so far this year, going 7-for-23 along with a walk and three runs.

After Boston took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth, Langford responded immediately with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the frame. It was the first home run of the season for Langford, who was moved up to second in the order with Corey Seager getting the day off. The outfielder has hit safely in all four games to start the season

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Hits in four straight games

Langford went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Thursday's spring game against San Francisco. Langford, who missed two weeks of camp due to an oblique strain, has at least one hit in all four games since returning. The outfielder is 7-for-12 with a home run and four RBI during that stretch.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Makes spring debut

Langford started in left field, batted third, and went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's spring game against the Royals. Langford made his Cactus League debut after dealing with an oblique strain that first cropped up two weeks ago. He had been scheduled to play Friday, but that game was canceled due to weather. He lined a single that left the bat at 97.6 mph in first plate appearance and later grounded out at an exit velocity of 101.4 mph. "I felt pretty good baseball-wise, but physically, I felt really good," Langford, who also played five innings in left field, told Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. If there are no setbacks, Langford should have enough time to build up plate appearances before the start of the regular season.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Batting third in spring debut

Langford (oblique) is batting third as the designated hitter in Friday's spring game against the Rockies. The 23-year-old will make his first start of spring in a non-defensive capacity after missing the first couple weeks of Cactus League action due to an oblique strain. Langford now has nearly three weeks to get settled ahead of Opening Day against the Red Sox on March 27.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: September power surge

Langford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Angels. Langford hammered a Hunter Strickland fastball 415 feet in the sixth inning for his 16th homer of the season. It was his fourth in the last six games and eighth during September, during which the rookie is slugging .632 -- good for fourth in MLB during that time.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Launches 15th homer

Langford went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-2 win over the Angels. The rookie wasted no time in getting the Rangers on the board, rocketing a Reid Detmers changeup over the wall in left field in the first inning. Langford struggled early in the season in his first look at big-league pitching, but over his last 30 games he's slashing .295/.378/.580 with eight of his 15 homers on the year. The 22-year-old will head into 2025 with sky-high expectations once again, but he may be better equipped to meet them the second time around.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Pushes for 20 steals

Langford went 1-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Athletics. Langford stole a base for the second consecutive game and upped his season total to 18. The rookie outfielder, whose 543 plate appearances in 2024 is far beyond what he ever had in a collegiate season at Florida, is showing no signs that the major-league grind is wearing him down, and he's having his best month of the season. Langford owns a .310/.400/.598 slash line with six home runs, 17 RBI, six steals and 21 runs scored over 23 September games.
