Chargers vs. Giants updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Chargers vs. Giants football game
Game Recap
The Los Angeles Chargers won the last time they met up with the New York Giants, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Los Angeles enjoyed a cozy 37-21 victory over New York on Sunday.
The Chargers' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 24 points in the first half. New York wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 24-7 heading into the break. Los Angeles was outperformed in the second half 14-13 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
It was another big night for Los Angeles' QB Justin Herbert, who passed for three TDs and 275 yards on 31 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Herbert's 59-yard TD bomb to WR Jalen Guyton in the second quarter.
Special teams collected 13 points for the Chargers. K Dustin Hopkins delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
New York's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Saquon Barkley, who snatched one receiving TD.
Los Angeles' win ended a six-game game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5. The Giants' overall record fell to 4-9.
The Chargers will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday at home. Kansas City also lit up the scoreboard in their last game, so this could be a high-scoring matchup. As for New York, they will face off against the Dallas Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
