The Washington Football Team vs. Saints: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Football Team vs. Saints football game
The New Orleans Saints will square off against the Washington Football Team at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at FedEx Field. With a combined 817 yards of offense in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced contest.
The Saints fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the New York Giants last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 27-21. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but New Orleans was outplayed the rest of the way. No one had a standout game offensively for New Orleans, but they got scores from QB Jameis Winston and TE Juwan Johnson.
Washington decided to play defense against itself last week, but the team still came out ahead despite their 85 penalty yards. They managed a 34-30 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Washington QB Taylor Heinicke was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 290 yards on 33 attempts in addition to picking up 43 yards on the ground.
This next game is expected to be close, with New Orleans going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. But bettors beware: they are 0-2 against the spread when favored.
New Orleans and Washington now sit at an identical 2-2. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Saints come into the contest boasting the second fewest rushing yards allowed per game in the league at 66. Less enviably, Washington is stumbling into the game with the fourth most yards allowed per game in the NFL, having given up 417.5 on average.
