    Analysis

    The Rays are the best team in the AL and have a 50-25 record at home. The A's are awful. Griffin Jax on the mound for the Rays has mostly been good with a few clunkers mixed in, but the A's lineup -- especially on the road -- these days isn't scary. A's starter Jack Perkins has a 6.53 ERA. This won't be close.

    Analysis

    Monday's loss was a rough one for the Guardians as they now sit 1.5 games behind the White Sox for the lead in the American League Central Division. But on Tuesday, Cleveland hands the ball to Foster Griffin, who is 15-5 this season combined for the Nationals and Guardians. In April, the left hander held Chicago scoreless over seven innings in a no-decision in Washington's 2-1 win over the White Sox. Meanwhile, the Sox have lost 8 of Davis Martin's last 10 appearances. With less than two weeks to go in the regular season, there's not much more room for error for Cleveland and they really could use this victory. I think they'll get it at home on Tuesday night.

    Analysis

    The Phillies are fighting to keep a playoff spot but also to grab home-field advantage for the Wild Card Series while still holding out hope for the NL East title. The Nationals have packed things in, having gone 15-28 since July 28. Cristopher Sanchez vs. Jackson Kent means a lopsided pitching matchup, too.

    Analysis

    Without a doubt, this is a must win game for the Blue Jays on Tuesday night. Blowing two separate leads to the Tigers on Monday with a Wild Card spot within reach was inexcusable. The next two contests at home vs. Detroit are must wins before Toronto heads to Texas and Baltimore on a crucial six game road trip. Tigers pitcher Drew Anderson is 1-5 with a 4.63 ERA on the road this season in his combined work as a reliever and a starter. I am buying the Blue Jays' offense to take care of business and even the series on Tuesday.

    San Diego has won eight straight games and their centerfielder, Jackson Merrill, is on a massive heater over the last week. Merrill has now totaled 11 hits over his last four games and has achieved 2+ total bases in five of his last six games. Rockies starter Ryan Feltner has a 6.18 home ERA and lefties are hitting .294 against him in 2026. This should be a good spot for Merrill to continue his hot hitting ways as San Diego tries to lock down a Wild Card spot in the National League.
