New York and Colorado will play a doubleheader Sunday to make up for Saturday's contest, and Senga will likely take the mound to start one of the two games. The 33-year-old will be looking to turn things around after giving up 13 earned runs in just 5.2 innings over his last two starts.
Mets' Freddy Peralta: Allows just two runs in loss

Peralta (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight batters in 5.2 innings.
It wasn't Peralta's most efficient outing, as he worked through just 5.2 innings on 95 pitches, but it could be argued he still deserved better as he allowed just two runs. The 29-year-old hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since his first in a Mets uniform, but the run support hasn't been there in that time as he holds an 0-3 record in his past five starts. The encouraging part was that the strikeout stuff was there for the right-hander, as he fanned a season-high eight batters, giving him 36 in 32.1 innings so far. His next scheduled chance to add to those numbers will be Thursday against the Nationals.
Lindor (calf) will wear a boot for the next week and remain shut down for at least three weeks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
After the three weeks are up, Lindor will have more imaging on his left calf to check his progress. He could resume baseball activities at that point if the Mets are satisfied with the MRI, but Lindor would be ramped back up slowly. It all points to a lengthy absence for the star shortstop, but more will be known about a timeline by mid-May. Ronny Mauricio is filling in at shortstop for the Mets in Lindor's stead.

Peterson has posted a 6.41 ERA in four starts this season, but he pitched better his last two times out. Mets' Carson Benge: Swats second homer

Benge went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Twins.
The rookie outfielder took Joe Ryan deep in the fourth inning, giving Benge his second homer of the year. It was the first time in his brief career that the 23-year-old had recorded multiple extra-base hits in a game, and it was his first multi-hit performance in April. Benge may be getting comfortable in the majors -- while he's still batting just .200 (4-for-20) over the last seven games, three of his four hits in that span have gone for extra bases, and his 20.0 percent strikeout rate is a significant improvement on the 28.9 percent mark he posted in his first 12 contests of the season.
Baty went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run in Thursday's 10-8 victory against the Twins.
After the Mets fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, Baty put his team ahead in the bottom of the frame with a three-run blast off Joe Ryan. That was his first long ball of the campaign after failing to go deep in each of his first 21 contests. Baty has been able to maintain a consistent spot in the lineup despite compiling a meager .225/.250/.338 slash line and 3:23 BB:K so far, and he'll look to use his big performance Thursday as a springboard to improved results at the plate.

Mets' Bo Bichette: Comes through with big hit Thursday

All three of Bichette's RBI came in the eighth inning, when he laced a double to left field to clear the bases and snap a 7-7 tie. The infielder had two other hits in the game to finish with his first multi-hit effort since April 11. It's been a shaky start to Bichette's tenure in New York, but he was able to lift his season slash line to .238/.270/.314 with Thursday's big performance. He's produced one homer, five doubles, 12 RBI and 10 runs through 25 games.

Mets' Devin Williams: Shaky again, but picks up win

Williams (1-1) earned the win over the Twins on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two batters over two-thirds of an inning.
The Mets led by three runs entering the ninth inning, and manager Carlos Mendoza intended to immediately deploy Williams for the start of the frame, per Max Goodman of NJ.com. However, a dugout miscommunication led to fellow reliever Huascar Brazoban -- who finished off the eighth inning -- walking onto the field and crossing the foul line, which meant he had to stay in the game. Brazoban got one out and then exited in favor of Williams, but that meant the latter was no longer in line for a save. Williams didn't have a good outing in any case, yielding three hits and a run, but he was able to hold the lead and was generously granted the win by the official scorer. While that's a small victory for Williams' fantasy managers, it doesn't quell concerns about the veteran reliever's performance of late. After opening the campaign with five straight scoreless outings, Williams has surrendered eight runs over two innings across his past four appearances.

Scott was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse earlier in the day and made his first big-league appearance since 2024. Though he was charged with just one run, the outing was a mess for the right-hander, as he threw only 18 of 43 pitches for strikes, walked five batters, hit another batter and was called for a balk. The run Scott gave up came as a result of four first-inning free passes, and he nearly walked another batter, falling behind 3-0 in the count before eventually getting Luke Keaschall to fly out. Despite the rough outing, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said after Thursday's contest that the team plans to give Scott another turn in the rotation, per Max Goodman of NJ.com.
